Darren Zimmerman, DVM

Dr. Zimmerman may have grown up a city slicker, but thanks to many hours spent on dairy farms in high school and college, he is more than a little comfortable around a cow. After graduating from UW-River Falls and then from veterinary school at UW-Madison in 1999, he is a large animal doctor with an interest not only in being part of the Lodi Veterinary Hospital team, but also with the farms he works with. He believes in a healthy doctor-client relationship as well as a healthy herd.

He lives with his wife Lori, a border collie named Hannah and Bob, a rottweiller. He clears his head working at his in-laws’ beef cattle farm in North Freedom. She works to keep the farm going as well as practicing small animal medicine.

Dr. Zimmerman joined the LVH team as a doctor in 2006.
