Nathan Dorshorst, DVM

Although he graduated from UW–Madison Veterinary School in May of 2006, Dr. Dorshorst is no stranger to veterinary medicine. His father is also a large animal doctor. He spent many hours riding along with him on call, gaining valuable experience in the process.

Dr. Dorshorst has a special interest in embryo transfer and is currently completing a master's degree in epidemiology while focusing his research on Johne’s Disease.

When he is not working or studying, he spends time with his wife Melissa. They own several registered Holsteins that live at the home farm, and they enjoy helping out there whenever possible. Dr. Dorshorst also enjoys backpacking, playing volleyball and showing the Holsteins. Clearly he has a love for the breed - even his two cats are black and white!

In addition to his veterinary degree, he has a BS from UW – Madison in Dairy Science and holds memberships with AABP and WVMA.

Dr. Dorshorst joined the LVH team as a doctor in 2006.
