Shawn Bogdanske, DVM

Dr. Bogdanske grew up on a hobby farm and spent much of her time nursing sick barn cats and wildlife. Her frustration with her less than 100% success rate with her “patients” drove her to become a veterinarian many years later. After attending Augustana University, she studied at UW-Madison to obtain her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1991.

She currently lives in Lodi.  Her husband, John, works at RARC at UW- Madison by day and is a basketball referee and cyclist after hours. They have 2 daughters, Nikki (living in New York City) and her younger sister Michaela (attending Lodi High School).  Princess Meg and Mia, crazy Brittany sisters that were purchased after going to look at ONE pup, share her house.  Toby and Ron are the feline members of the family.  Ron is soon to be a part of the LVH Weight Management Program.

Dr. Bogdanske’s favorite aspect of her career is watching her clients and their animals develop a strong bond and helping them through each life stage with grace and dignity.   Her special interests include cardiology (study of the heart) and ophthalmology (eyes).  When Shawn is not working, she can often be found following her husband around on their tandem bike or attempting to run with two Brittanys.

She attends First Lutheran Church, and is a member of the professional organizations, WVMA and AVMA.

Dr. Bogdanske joined the LVH team as a doctor in 1991.
