Acupuncture provides pain control by the insertion of very thin flexible needles into specific predetermined points on the body to produce specific physiological responses. It also helps the body heal itself in conditions that are reversible. It is a very safe and effective treatment for a variety of problems. Acupuncture can be used along with the appropriate western medical therapy for the condition being treated. Additionally, it is an excellent enhancement therapy to use along with chiropractic care. The following list provides some examples of medical conditions for which acupuncture is often helpful:

Sport Injuries, arthritis, allergies, muscle spasm, behavioral disorders, eye problems, inflammatory conditions, chronic lameness conditions, moon blindness, performance enhancements, laminitis, post surgical pain management, colic

Chiropractic Adjustments may benefit your horse if you are noticing any of the following:

Head Issues: Head tilting, resistance to the bit or chewing problems, inability to maintain headset

Pain Issues: Neck, back, tail pain, cinchiness, muscle spasms, inability to recover after injury, bucking, rearing or undiagnosable lameness

Posture Problems: Asymmetrical muscling or uneven hips, inability to stand square or move straight

Performance Problems: Stiffness in neck or back, difficulty picking up or maintaining leads, shortened stride or dragging hooves, inability to engage hind end or poor movement, difficulty obtaining or maintaining collection, not performing to expected levels, weakness on one side or resistance, cold bakced, pinning ears or wringing tail, change in attitude or willingness

All of the above problems can be caused by restricted or subluxated joints. Subluxated joints become irritated and swollen which leads to nerve irritation. Irritated nerves do not function properly and can lead to dysfunction of whatever body part they control. These subluxated joints can be fixed by applying a quick, low force hand-thrust in a specific plane of motion.
