Meet the Advanced Repro team at Lodi Veterinary Care
Nathan Dorshorst – DVM - Dr. Dorshorst grew up on a 50 cow registered Holstein dairy farm in central Wisconsin where he spent summers showing dairy cattle and riding on calls with his father, also a large animal veterinarian. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison receiving his Bachelors of Science in Dairy Science (2002) and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2006).
Dr. Dorshorst specializes in bovine advanced reproductive technology including reproductive ultrasound and fetal gender determination, embryo transfer (E.T.), in vitro fertilization and cloning. He also enjoys herd health and general practice work when his schedule allows. His work with embryo transfer began while still in veterinary school when he would travel to the home farm to learn from his older brother Matt, also an E.T. veterinarian.
He is a member of the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA) and the International Embryo Transfer Society. He is also an AETA certified practitioner and maintains a USDA certified collection facility for export of both bovine and equine embryos to the European Union. His other professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners.
He lives with his wife Melissa and their three boys, Braedon, Owen and Everett. He enjoys gardening, hiking, showing his registered Holsteins and spending time with his family.
Sheena Ringelstetter – ET Certified Veterinary Technician – Sheena grew up in Arlington, WI showing registered Herefords. She began working for the Lodi Veterinary Care in 2006 as a small animal Veterinary Technician Assistant while in technician school. Sheena started working with Dr. Dorshorst in 2009, and has been working as an ET tech ever since! She resides in Arlington, WI with her husband Ryan and the cutest Boston Terrier in the world, Lola. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with Ryan and Lola, showing her Herefords, and visiting her family.
Rudi Meyer – Embryologist– Rudi was born and raised in Madison, WI. She received her Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences at UW-Madison in 2009. While in college Rudi studied in the lab of Dr. Milo Wiltbank for four years, and that is how her interest and passion for bovine reproduction began and grew. She was also the student manager of the UW campus dairy herd. After graduation Rudi moved to Montana and worked on a commercial cow/calf operation working cattle on horseback, among other day to day ranch operations. Rudi joined the Lodi team in November of 2010, and her primary job is working in the mobile lab searching for, washing, grading, staging, and freezing embryos. When needed, she will step out of the lab and help out cow-side as well. In her spare time Rudi enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and their 3 large dogs, cycling, camping, and horseback riding.
